A relfection on the year that (sort of) lasted...

That year is well and truly over now, it's mid March. Actually, that's about the time I started this blog.

Same time, last year.

I guess March is the time I realise 'fuck! Where did the last two months go? ...I forgot February was shorter' and think I'd better start doing something with my year...life.

I didn't exactly succeed at that last year.

I ended up just wishing it over. Much to my own detriment. I didn't make anything of it.

Okay, I saved a bit of money, but not as much as I intended and I feel as if my brain shrivelled slightly...

But this year...this year that starts in March, apparently...I will begin my life. Is it too late for New Years resolutions?

Already, in my brief twenty-four years of life, I have managed to accumulate enough...I'm not quite sure what to call it...trauma? Grief? Difficulty? It feels strange saying that now, but I've only recently realised that traumatic things did happen to me and it's okay that they've affected me. But I want to move on and I don't know how to do that by myself. Which brings me to the point, this year I am going to seek help to overcome these things because it has become blatantly obvious to me that they are a hindrance to me in my growth and in my life.

I realise that I am fortunate my relationship lasted that year, because it didn't make me much of a stronger person. I did discover some of my virtues and talents, but I pushed it too far beyond that point and only ended up making life more difficult for myself. Some of these virtues are the courage of my convictions and as I discovered often this doesn't make people like you much.

I should've moved from Tasmania halfway through the year. But I chose to stay and I am still dealing with the consequences. Destructive mindsets have been further entrenched.

But that will soon change. Things are happening that I have been wishing for for years: my own space - a shared space, but it is what I wished for - with people I love and with whom I can create things. I know it needs to happen sooner rather than later because it is what I long for and if it happens now I can prove to myself what I am capable of.

All that being said I think it is time for a new blog, this year's blog lasted the year - sort of. It's done it's job.
